ACCREDITED CHAIR PROFILE & CLINICAL OVERVIEW

Global Leader in Standardized D2 Gastric Resection and Perioperative Innovation

Prof. Ji Jiafu, MD, PhD, is President of Peking University Cancer Hospital (Beijing Cancer Hospital), Past President of the International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA), and Executive Vice President of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA). He is globally recognized as the preeminent pioneer in the standardization and laparoscopic evolution of radical D2 gastrectomy.

Prof. Ji led the practice-changing RESOLVE trial (published in *The Lancet Oncology*), which established perioperative S-1 + oxaliplatin (SOX) as the international gold standard for locally advanced gastric cancer, significantly extending 5-year disease-free survival. His surgical department leads Asia in laparoscopic, robotic, and conversion gastrectomies for advanced and oligometastatic cases.

Renowned for meticulous anatomical lymph node dissection along the celiac axis, splenic artery, and suprapancreatic margin, Prof. Ji has trained thousands of gastrointestinal surgeons worldwide. His center is also a global pioneer in Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) and pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC) for preventing and treating peritoneal carcinomatosis.

Primary Appointment President, Peking University Cancer Hospital & Institute
Global Leadership Past President, International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA)
National Governance Executive Vice President, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA); Chair, Gastric Cancer Committee
Honorary Fellowships Honorary Fellow, American College of Surgeons (FACS); Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS)
CORE OPERATIVE MASTERY & CLINICAL EXCELLENCE

Procedural Frontiers & Department Innovations

Standardized D2 Lymph Node Dissection

Meticulous mesogastric and peripancreatic vascular skeletonization ensuring >30 lymph nodes retrieved with near-zero blood loss.

RESOLVE Perioperative Chemo-Regimen

Led the phase III trial proving superior 3-year disease-free survival with perioperative SOX chemotherapy for D2-resectable gastric cancer.

Robotic & Laparoscopic Total Gastrectomy

Advanced intracorporeal overlap and circular stapling digestive tract reconstructions minimizing postoperative anastomotic leakage.

Conversion Therapy & Intraperitoneal HIPEC

Comprehensive neoadjuvant systemic therapy combined with closed-circuit hyperthermic lavage to clear cytology-positive peritoneal disease.
