Three Tiers · English Report
Cancer Screening
in China
Three screening tiers at public hospitals in China, each ending with a written report in English.
Key Exams
What each check looks for
- Gastroscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Liver check
- H. pylori
- Nasopharynx

Sedated · Plus & VIP
Camera check of the food pipe and stomach
A thin camera looks at the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum while you are under sedation. Dye or NBI light can help the doctor see the lining more clearly.
- Escort required after sedation
- Dye / NBI when the doctor uses it

Sedated · Plus & VIP
Full check of the large bowel
The camera checks the whole colon. Polyps can often be removed in the same visit and sent for lab review.
- Polyp removal + biopsy if needed
- Entry package uses a FIT stool test instead

Included in all packages
Hepatitis blood tests + ultrasound
HBV and HCV blood tests plus an abdominal ultrasound. An AFP blood test is added only when liver risk is present.
- HBV / HCV blood tests
- AFP only if you have liver risk

Included in all packages
Breath test for stomach bacteria
A short breath test for H. pylori, a bacterium linked to stomach cancer risk. If positive, doctors can treat it with antibiotics.
- Non-invasive
- Treatable when positive

Optional · risk-based
EBV blood test for regional risk
Offered if you are from southern China or have a family history of nasopharyngeal cancer. Most visitors from low-risk regions skip it. VIP may add a nasopharynx scope only when EBV risk is high.
- EBV antibody blood test
- Scope only if EBV risk (VIP)
What each tier covers
Ticks are included for everyone in that tier. "if …" means only when it applies to you.

“if …” tests are only done when your age, history or results call for them. Colonoscopy replaces the FIT test that year. VIP doesn’t add more routine tests — it adds genetic risk review, deeper checks only when you’re at risk, and same-trip follow-up if anything is found. Prices depend on hospital and tests — request your plan for a quote.

FAQ
Screening FAQ
Core is about half a day to one day. Plus includes endoscopy, so plan a second day. VIP aims to fit everything into one day where the hospital allows. All times are estimates, confirmed by the hospital.
No. A coordinator goes with you and helps with forms and questions in English.
Public tertiary (3A) hospital check-up centres / international departments. We confirm the site in writing before you travel.
Usually not for screening abroad. We give itemised receipts you can submit to your insurer.
Core needs no sedation. Gastroscopy and colonoscopy in Plus and VIP are done under sedation, so an adult must accompany you.
You receive a written report in English and a doctor explains it. If a biopsy is taken, pathology results come a few days later.
